Our lodge is available for use by all campers. We offer comfortable seating and picnic tables, an indoor fireplace, board games, cable TV, book swap. The lodge has a Goodie Shop and Camp Store that are open whenever the lodge is. Our back patio has seating and a custom made fire pit. The patio has clear vinyl sides that roll down in cold or inclement weather so those using the space can stay dry and toasty.

Forget something? Check out our selection in the Camp Store in the lodge. We have your basics: food, firewood, RV accessories, gadgets, Timber Ridge t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats, and other merchandise. While you’re there, satisfy your craving at the Goodie Shop with a sweet treat like a hand-dipped Moomers Ice Cream cone or with more filling fare like pizzas and quesadillas.

Bath Houses & Laundry

There are two clean and roomy bath houses in the park. Each offers hot showers (50 cents per five minutes) and the North bath house has coin operated washers and dryers at the opposite end of the building.

Deluxe cabins, cottages, premium cottages, Park Homes and bunkhouses have private bathrooms but those staying in basic yurts will need to use one of these bath houses.

In an effort to conserve water in the park, showers are operated on coins and tokens. There are commercial washers and dryers in the North bath house that operate using quarters. There is a change machine available in the Lodge and in the Laundry facilities.

Water Amenities

Here at Timber Ridge we have two options for water amenities in the wonderful summer months of Northern Michigan. There is a heated pool and kiddie pool by the Lodge with basket ball hoops and sun chairs. Back in the woods we have our newest water amenity ‘Just-In Timberlake’. Timberlake is a 1 acre lake settled in the woods, equipped with a water trampoline, kids splash pad, and more! Surrounding Timberlake is a sandy beach with a beach volleyball court, gaga pit, and the Timber Hut. For both the pool and Timberlake, all kids under the age of 18 MUST have wrist bands on at all times. Kids under the age of 13 (green and red wrist bands) must be accompanied by an adult at all times while around/in these water amenities.

Lodge & Banquet Facility FAQs

Q. I’d like to hold both my wedding ceremony and reception at Timber Ridge. Can you accommodate both events?

A.  Of course you can! We have our indoor banquet facility with a beautiful stone fireplace where you can hold your wedding or reception. Plus, Timber Ridge has a quaint covered bridge and acres of beautiful wooded land for gorgeous outdoor ceremonies and photo opportunities. In addition, guests can rent one of our party tents if they’d prefer to hold an outdoor ceremony or reception under a tent.

Q. I would like to bring my own alcohol for my event. Must I hire a professional to serve it?

A.  We expect that you would want your guests to be responsible drinkers, and to help keep your event under control in regard to alcohol, we ask that all event planners provide a professional bartender or responsible individual to serve your alcohol. This server must also monitor the guests’ alcohol intake.

Q. Can we cook our own food for our event, or do we have to hire a caterer?

A.  With our large kitchen in the banquet hall, guests have long been their own caterers. So bring your family recipes and prepare them onsite. Just make sure to plan on bringing all the necessary cookware, serving platters, utensils, tableware, and food storage gear. We also have a gas grill available for rental if you choose to barbecue. You may also hire a caterer if that is your preference!

A.  Arrangements must be made at the time of booking. Midnight should be “closing time” for your event. If there is no other event scheduled in the banquet facility for the following day, you may be allowed to clean the hall the day after your event. Again, a schedule for clean-up must be made in advance.

Trail & Seasonal Sports FAQs

Q. Do I have to pay a fee to access the ski /snowshoe and snowbike trails?

A.  Because Timber Ridge must groom and maintain these trails year round, a small fee is charged. Daily or annual passes are available for purchase.

Q. If you are not open during the ski season on certain days, can I still access the trails?

A.  No. Because Timber Ridge is private property, we ask that the public does not trespass. However, we have just ONE exception: If you have purchased a season trail pass, you may access our trails and lodge when conditions allow, as you have paid for that privilege.

Q. I enjoy mountain biking, but I’m more of a beginner. Can I still ride the trails?

A.  Simply put, yes. We encourage riders of all skill levels to enjoy the trails. The Timber Ridge and VASA trails present a wide array of challenges for experts and “newbies”. You can even test your skills on a new addition to the park: our mountain bike terrain course.

Q. If I am not an overnight guest at the resort, do I have to pay a fee to access the trails for hiking and biking?

A.  We do not currently charge a fee for use of our trails during warmer-weather months. However, you must check in at the front desk to notify our staff that you will be enjoying our trails.
